BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- On Wednesday morning, D3Football.com announced their annual All-Region Teams. This is the 18th year of the D3Football.com All-Region teams. Players are nominated for these awards by the Sports Information Directors at various schools. In total, 1,096 players were nominated. The 2022 D3Football.com All-Region teams are sponsored by Stevenson University, hosts of Stag Bowl XLIX. All-Region teams are selected in balloting by Sports Information Directors in each region and D3Football.com staff. All players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for the D3Football.com All-America Team.

After being selected to the MASCAC All-Conference 1st Team Defense and being named to the New England Football Writers All-New England Team, Buccaneers senior defensive lineman Hugh Wells has been named to the D3Football.com All-Region 1 third team as a defensive end.

Wells, who led the Buccaneers in tackles (59), sacks (10), and tackles for loss (20), has been racking up the awards this postseason for his performance on the field in 2022. His 10 sacks and 20 tackles for loss led the MASCAC in those two categories. During the season he tallied his first career interception and blocked a field goal on special teams.
