Massachusetts Maritime sophomore running back Kenny Pierce’s 87-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter of last Saturday's Admiral's Cup setback at Maine Maritime is one of four nominees for this week’s Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Fan Play of the Week.

Fans can visit www.mascac.com and click on the Football Fan Play of the Week page to vote for Kenny's effort, which came as part of a career-high 212 yard performance that included two other visits to the end zone from 80 and 11 yards out.  Voting is open until Noon on Wednesday, and this week’s winner will be announced by the conference office later that afternoon.  Bridgewater State, UMass Dartmouth and Westfield State are the other three schools competing for this week’s top play.

Pierce ranks 14th in rushing yards per game nationally (143.0) in NCAA Division III play in Massachusetts Maritime’s first two contests, and he also leads the nation in average yards per carry (13.0 per attempt).  In just 12 collegiate contests, Kenny has rushed for 820 yards on 98 carries, an average of 8.4 yards per attempt.
