Football Continues Preparations For 2015 Season As Cameron's Crew Looks To Tackle Challenging 10-Game Slate

As the sun beats down on the region with scorching temperatures, it’s hard to imagine that the cooler days of fall are just a few short weeks away.  And as the thermometer continues to climb, preparations also continue for the start of the 2015 Massachusetts Maritime football season, which will begin in a little over seven weeks.

The Buccaneers are set to kick off Head Coach Jeremy Cameron’s 11th campaign at the helm on Friday, September 11th by hosting SUNY-Maritime in the Eighth Annual Chowder Bowl at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 6:00 p.m. EDT.  Massachusetts Maritime then hits the road seeking its fifth straight victory in the Admiral’s Cup series with rival Maine Maritime, as the squads will meet for the 43rd time on Saturday, September 19th in Castine, Maine at Noon EDT.

Cameron’s crew will play four of its first six contests away from the friendly confines of Cape Cod, as the Buccaneers will also host Fitchburg State on Homecoming Weekend (Saturday, October 3rd), UMass Dartmouth (Saturday, October 24th) and Plymouth State (Saturday, November 7th).  Massachusetts Maritime closes out its regular season and Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference slates on Saturday, November 14th by hosting rival Bridgewater State in the 37th Annual Cranberry Bowl Presented by Ocean Spray.

In addition to the trip to downeast Maine, the Buccaneers will also venture to Worcester State (Saturday, September 26th), Western Connecticut (Saturday, October 10th), Westfield State (Saturday, October 17th) and Framingham State (Halloween afternoon) for MASCAC affairs.
