
Bucs Drop Conference Match to Lancers in Straight Sets
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- Maritime volleyball hosted Worcester in conference play on Saturday and fell to the Lancers in straight sets, 3-0.

Maritime
- Gemma Geisler led the team in kills with four in the match. Izabella Mackintosh recorded three of her own.
- Shayla Narodowg led the team with six assists and she had two service aces along with Chloe Johnson.
- Audrey Manning was the defensive leader with 16 digs.

How It Happened
Maritime took early leads in the first a second set leading 2-0 after two serves. In the first set, Worcester ran away with the game after erasing the two-point deficit and led by as many as 12, 15-6, midway through the set. The Lancers went on to win the first set by a final of 25-13.
In the second set, Maritime took their 2-0 lead and were competitive against the Lancers, once of the best teams in the conference, and kept the score within two points all the way until Worcester led 24-22 late on. On the final point of the set, on a Maritime serve, Stedronsky recorded a kill to win the second set, 25-23, and take a 2-0 match lead.
In set three, Maritime was only able to muster four points against the Lancers and fell behind by 16 points, 20-4. The Bucs then scored three in a row to make the score 20-7 and Worcester scored three of their own to go up 23-7. Maritime fought back a bit scoring five points unanswered and cut the deficit to 23-12. Worcester went on to score the final two points of the set to win it, 25-13, and take the match, 3-0.
