BRIDGEWATER, Mass. --  Sophomore Tayler Beck (Marion, Mass.) collected five kills, four digs and three service aces to lead Bridgewater State to a 3-0 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime by game scores of 25-6, 25-5 and 25-12 in a league match played Wednesday evening at the Tinsley Center.

Sophomore Melanie Appleman (Hyannis, Mass.) added seven service aces and eight set assists in the triumph for the host Bears (7-10, 3-0 MASCAC), who also received five service aces and eight digs from sophomore Kristen Robillard (Swansea, Mass.) for the contest.

Junior Alex Burgess-Chrost (Leominster, Mass.) registered three kills in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-15, 0-2 MASCAC), who also received six digs each from junior Laura Basile (Cambridge, Mass.) and Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) and a pair of set assists from freshman Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.).

Massachusetts Maritime hosts Roger Williams in a non-league match on Thursday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 7:00 p.m., while Bridgewater State will be idle until Friday, October 7th when the Bears head to Willimantic, Conn. to take on Wheaton in opening round play of the Eastern Connecticut Crabtree Classic that begins at 6:00 p.m.
