DiScipio Named to MASCAC All-Conference First Team
WESTFIELD, MA -- Wednesday afternoon, the MASCAC announced their 2022 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Teams. Receiving her first career conference honors, Alyssa DiScipio has been named to the All-MASCAC First Team for her performance this season.
DiScipio scored a career-high 68 goals in the 2022 with 20 assists for a total of 88 points. She scored 24 free position goals this season, a program record. She picked up 72 ground balls, won 93 draw controls and caused 31 turnovers from her midfield position.
Alyssa cemented herself amongst the top players in the conference this season and set a number of program career, season and single-game records. DiScipio set the record for most goals in a single game by a Buccaneer with 10 goals against Maine Maritime. In that same game she recorded 13 points, another program single-game high. In the team's win over MCLA, Alyssa had eight assists in the game, another single-game program record. Against Curry early in the season, she picked up 10 ground balls, and against MCLA she won 12 draw controls, second most in a single-game in program history.
In Discipio's career season, the Buccaneers finished the regular season with a 9-8 record, their second winning season in program history. They completed the season with a 9-9 record having lost to Worcester State in the MASCAC Quarterfinals after sealing the six seed in the tournament.
