BUZZARDS BAY, MA -- The Buccaneers welcomed Bridgewater State to Taylor's Point on monday for a MASCAC game with the Bears. The Bucs kept the game close early; the Bears pulled away to win 16-6.

How It Happened
Bridgewater opened the scoring at the 13:21 mark of the first quarter. McLaughlin tied the game for the Bucs at 7:43 on a pass from Durgin. At the six-minute mark, Bridgewater retook the lead when O'Brien scored to make it 2-1. Bridgewater went on to score three more, unanswered, in the final five minutes of the quarter, including two in the final minute, to close out the first with a 5-1 lead.
The bucs scored first in the second to make it 5-2. Durgin scored on a pass from McLaughlin. Bridgewater scored at 12:13 to pull back ahead by four. DiScipio netted a goal two minutes later to close the game to three again. The Bears scored two goals in the final 3:10 of the half, going to the break up 8-3.
In the third quarter, Bridgewater did all of the scoring, netting five goals to run their unanswered streak to seven goals and give them a 10-goal, 13-3 advantage at the end of three quarters.
Bridgewater opened the lead to 11 goals to start the fourth. Down 14-3, Maritime ended the eight-goal run by the Bears on a McLaughlin goal. The Bucs scored two more to make it 14-6. The Bears scored two more goals at 4:38 and 3:17 to put the game away, 16-6.
