Massachusetts Maritime freshman midfielder Ashley Solari was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Week late Sunday evening for her efforts in three matches for the Buccaneers last week.

A native of Sandwich, Mass. and a graduate of Sandwich High School, Solari netted nine goals and six assists for 15 points in a 2-1 week for Head Coach Leslie Bullis’s squad, including four goals and two assists each in a 26-10 victory over Mitchell yesterday afternoon and a 16-4 triumph over Bay Path last Thursday evening.  Solari also notched a goal and two assists in a 13-6 setback to Becker last Tuesday afternoon, and she added 11 ground balls and four draw controls to her scoring efforts on the week.

Solari leads Massachusetts Maritime in scoring with 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points through six contests this spring, and the Buccaneers return to action on Thursday evening by heading to Chicopee, Mass. to take on Elms in a non-league match that begins at 8:00 p.m. EDT.
