Coach Griffiths Named MASCAC Softball Coach of the Year
WESTFIELD, Mass -- After the best season in program history, Buccaneers softball head coach Will Griffiths has been selected as the MASCAC Coach of the Year as voted on by the conference softball coaches.
The Buccaneers finished 17-20 overall and 5-9 in conference play in 2023 and earned their first playoff appearance in program history. The 17 wins in most in a season for the Bucs shattering their previous record of eight wins that was achieved in 2022. Their five conference wins is also the most in a season with the previous total being one.
In his fourth season as head coach, Griff coached the conference Player and Rookie of the Year and first team All-MASCAC selection, third baseman Ab'c'de Patane and second team All-MASCAC selection utility player Erin Donlan.
