Bucs Split with Falcons Picking up First Conference Win
BUZZARDS BAY, Mass -- On Saturday afternoon, the Bucs hosted Fitchburg State at Rollins Field in a conference doubleheader. After losing game one by a 15-11 final the Bucs shutout the Falcons in game two, 5-0, to earn their first conference win since April 21st 2018 when they beat Westfield State 6-0 at home.

How It Happened
Fitchburg scored the first runs of the game in the top of the second, scoring twice to go up 2-0.
Maritime scored seven runs in the bottom of the third to take a 7-2 lead after three innings.
In the bottom of the fourth, Maritime added four runs to extend their lead to a commanding 11-2.
In the fifth inning the Fitchburg bats came alive as they scored three times to make the score 11-5.
In the sixth, the Falcons added five more runs to pull within one run, 11-10.
In the top of the seventh, the Bucs couldn't hold on and allowed five runs as the Falcons took a 15-11 lead. Leveille sat down the Bucs in the seventh and secured the 15-11 win for the Falcons in game one.

How It Happened
The scoring for the Bucs began in the second inning with their first run scoring on Biondo's double to plate Harring. Later in the inning, Kerecz reached on a fielding error by the third baseman allowing Butler and Biondo to come in to score. The Bucs led 3-0 after two innings.
In the third, the Bucs executed a double steal with Donlan stealing home for the fourth run of the game. Butler then singled up the middle allowing Harring to score from second base to give the Bucs a 5-0 lead.
Donlan threw four innings allowing no hits and closed out the game with solid defense behind her to secure the conference win for the Bucs, their first since April of 2018.
