Kurylak Named As NEWMAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week

Massachusetts Maritime junior midfielder Anthony Kurylak was named as the New England Women’s & Men’s Athletic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon for his efforts in helping lead the Buccaneers to the best start in school history with four victories to open the 2015 season.

A native of Exeter, N.H. and a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Kurylak netted 12 goals and three assists for 15 points in the four contests, including a career-high six goals in a 15-10 triumph over Albertus Magnus to go with a hat trick and an assist for four points in Sunday’s 10-9 double overtime win at SUNY-Maritime that gave Massachusetts Maritime its second straight Maritime Cup.  The Buccaneer co-captain added a pair of goals and two helpers in Saturday’s 16-8 Admiral’s Cup victory over Maine Maritime and collected 17 ground balls, two caused turnovers and a pair of man-up markers on the week.

Head Coach Rory Deegan’s squad takes its perfect 4-0 mark into a non-league match with Plymouth State on Tuesday evening at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 7:00 p.m. EDT.
