Seven Buccaneers Earn Spots On 2013 Pilgrim Lacrosse League All-Academic Team

Buzzards Bay, Mass. --  Seven members of the Massachusetts Maritime men’s lacrosse team have been named to the 2013 Pilgrim Lacrosse League All-Academic team that was released earlier this afternoon.

 

Student-athletes at the seven league member institutions who have achieved a minimum 3.25 grade point average and deemed as a significant contributor by their respective coaches were eligible for selection to this year’s squad, which is comprised of 47 total individuals.

 

Head Coach Rory Deegan’s Buccaneers were represented by sophomores Drew Prowse (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield) and Dillon Jones (Sagamore Beach, Mass./Bourne) as well as freshmen James Klose (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Saint Joseph), Anthony Kurylak (Rye, N.H./Portsmouth), Nicholas Defuria (Succasanna, N.J./Roxbury), Jamie Foy (Holden, Mass./Wachusett Regional) and Matthew Montuori (Framingham, Mass./Framingham).

 

Massachusetts Maritime posted five overall victories during the recently completed 2013 campaign, including a three-match winning streak in mid-April and an 11-10 Admiral’s Cup triumph over rival Maine Maritime on March 24th.
