Former Duxbury High three-sport athlete Tyler Genereux, a sophomore at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, is a dual threat for the Buccaneer baseball program.

Through last weekend, Genereux had a 2-1 record and 4.05 earned run average, including a complete-game five-hitter that featured a career-high 12 strikeouts in a 3-1 victory over Rivier.

Named Mass. State Collegiate Athletic Conference co-Pitcher of the Week for that effort, Genereux then tossed six innings in a 2-0 victory over Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Genereux, who also plays third base, has been impressive at the plate, posting a .326 batting average (14-for-43), including three hits and a career-high four RBIs in an 8-1 victory over Gordon College.

“Tyler has great poise,’’ said head coach Bob Corradi, now in his 39th season at the Buzzards Bay school, “and he is willing to learn and work hard.’’
