Malkin Named Sports Information Director At Massachusetts Maritime

BUZZARDS BAY, Mass – The Massachusetts Maritime Academy athletic department is pleased to announce the hiring of Joe Malkin as the next Sports Information Director.

A Milford, Massachusetts native, Joe spent the last year working as the sports information director at Anna Maria College in Paxton, Mass, covering 15 NCAA sports.

"We're very happy to have Joe join our athletic department here at Massachusetts Maritime Academy," Athletic Director Mike Kelley said. "Joe brings a solid professional background in sports information to the job and is well known throughout the Division III college community. His expertise and professionalism will be a major addition to the Buccaneer athletic department."

Malkin will take over his new responsibilities at Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Monday, September 17.

"I am honored to have been offered this opportunity at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and look forward to taking the next step in my professional career at such a prestigious institution." Malkin said. "I look forward to being a part of the Buccaneer family and being back on Cape Cod which I consider to be my second home."

Malkin has also spent time as a public address announcer for Anna Maria College and Mount Ida College football as well as the Harwich Mariners of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Over the past decade, Joe has served in many capacities at the NCAA Division III New England Baseball Regional which has historically been held on Cape Cod. Joe spent nine seasons working with the Harwich Mariners and the Cape Cod Baseball League as an announcer, broadcaster and official scorer, and was a part of two Cape League Championship seasons in 2008 and 2011.

A graduate of Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts where he graduated with an Associate's Degree in Communications and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology.

Joe currently resides in Milford, Mass with his wife and son.
