DEVENS, Mass -- Women's Cross Country took part in the MASCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday at the Devens Recreational Facility, hosted by Fitchburg State. Senior captain Lily Hakkarainen (Chesterfield, MA) was the top finisher for the Buccaneers, finishing 22nd overall, 21st in scoring. 

Hakkarainen finished with a time of 22:45, a fraction of a second behind the runner from Westfield State in front of her. Fellow senior captain Sarah Smialek (Dartmouth, MA) finished 26th in scoring with a time of 23:09. Two spots behind Smialek was Alyssa Greico (Andover, MA) with a time of 23:39. Senior captain Camryn Boyce came in 32nd with a time of 24:24. Rounding out the scoring for the Bucs was Deidre Kelly (Quincy, MA) with a time of 24:47. 

Overall, 10 of the 14 runners for Maritime finished in a top fifty spot. Overall, the team finished with 141 points in sixth place, 72 points ahead of MCLA in seventh. The buccaneers finished with a total time of 1:58:44 and an average of 23:44.80.
