FRAMINGHAM, Mass. --  Senior quarterback Zakery Walker (Ayer, Mass.) completed 16-of-21 pass attempts for 140 yards and two touchdowns to lead Framingham State to a 50-7 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference football victory over Massachusetts Maritime in the 11th Kelley Cup contest played Saturday afternoon at Bowditch Field.

The host Rams (4-0, 2-0 MASCAC) took control just 45 seconds into action when senior Svenn Jacobson (Cumberland, Maine) returned an interception 37 yards for a touchdown, and a pair of rushing scores by juniors Quron Wright (Worcester, Mass.) and Will Cowdrey (Marlboro, Mass.) from 29 and 10 yards out extended that margin to 22-0 midway through the opening quarter.  Walker connected with junior Napoleon Miller (Boston, Mass.) on a 16-yard touchdown pass just 1:29 into the second stanza to give Framingham State a 29-0 cushion, and the visiting Buccaneers (1-2, 0-1 MASCAC) got on the board on the ensuing possession when senior quarterback Chris Haggerty (Cohasset, Mass.) connected with fellow senior Ryan Taft (East Longmeadow, Mass.) from 12 yards out before Miller's 19 yard run with 6:44 remaining in the half gave the Rams a 36-7 edge at the break.  Walker found senior Stephen Beahn (Spencer, Mass.) for a 20-yard touchdown pass to cap the opening drive after intermission for the hosts, and junior Sebastein Robert (Cambridge, Mass.) accounted for the final margin with a four-yard scamper that came with 6:59 remaining in the game.

Wright and Cowdrey combined for 153 rushing yards in the win for Framingham State, which amassed 403 yards of total offense and converted 13-of-17 third down opportunities on the day.  Haggerty completed 18-of-40 pass attempts for 169 yards in the setback for Massachusetts Maritime, which was held to 220 total yards for the contest.  Taft and junior Paul Sances (Middleboro, Mass.) combined for 76 receiving yards for the Buccaneers, who hurt themselves with three turnovers.

Senior Nathan Fleming (Windham, Conn.) registered four solo tackles and a forced fumble on the afternoon for the Rams, who also received an interception from senior Thomas Burns (Attleboro, Mass.).  Senior Bobby Gross (Tampa, Fla.) and sophomore Sean Smialek (South Dartmouth, Mass.) each recorded eight total tackles for Massachusetts Maritime, which received six stops from sophomore Devin Leonard (Nashua, N.H.).

Both teams will square off with Fitchburg State in their next respective outings, as Massachusetts Maritime hosts the Falcons next Saturday afternoon at Clean Harbors Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m., while Framingham State pays a visit to Fitchburg, Mass. on Friday, October 6th for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
