Allegrini Takes on Gillette Stadium

Allegrini Takes on Gillette Stadium

During the Winter months while the Buccaneers are on break or sea term, many of the students take on cooperative opportunities with companies around the country. For eight weeks this winter, Buccaneers women's soccer player Morgan Allegrini is spending time working with C&W Services at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA, home of the NFL's New England Patriots and MLS's New England Revolution.

For the junior Facilities Engineering major from Carver, MA her time in Foxborough has consisted of completing general maintenance tasks to keep the staff, players, and fans safe and happy when they visit the stadium.

"I got to work during the Patriots versus Miami Dolphins game on New Year's Day mostly working on the stadium's plumbing," said Allegrini. "We had leaking sinks and a clogged toilet in the suites we were tasked with fixing during the game."

Plumbing isn't the only thing Morgan works on as they are currently painting and remodeling a number of the suites and painting them. She is also helping take out four sections of seats from the stadium and doing remodeling at field level.

"The stadium is a huge facility with many people from C&W keeping the building up to standard," said Morgan. "The majority of the work is enjoyable and there is nothing that the other employees and supervisors aren't willing to teach and help with."

With it being during the football season Morgan said the she has seen Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick in the building as well as quarterbacks Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe and other members of the team.

Morgan is working all over the stadium, even in the locker rooms as C&W has been hanging up posters in the Revolution locker room ahead of the upcoming Major League Soccer season.

"C&W and everyone in the stadium have been welcoming and willing to help everyone learn. I have already learned so much; from becoming comfortable with power tools to evaluating leaks in plumbing. The hands-on experience is irreplaceable and I have been learning and watching as much as I can to gain as much experience as possible. Having the opportunity to work with this company, especially on game day is an experience I will never forget." Said Morgan.

Allegrini will return to the Academy in the spring for the second semester of her junior year with all of the experience she has gained from her time with C&W.
