HOLYOKE, Mass -- Friday afternoon, Buccaneers track and field junior javelin thrower Liam Higgins competed in the New England Division III meet. With a toff of 59.60 meters, Higgins finished third overall. 

Liam's toss of 59.60 meters was slightly lower than his program record of 62.09 meters at the MASCAC Championship meet last weekend but was good for third overall. Higgins finished behind Liam Bourassa of Fitchburg State and Corey Salters of Bridgewater State, giving the MASCAC the top three spots in the event. He finished .03 meters ahead of the fourth place finisher from Vermont State Castleton.

Higgins will compete next weekend in the New England Alliance meet which consists of the best javelin throwers from Divisions I, II, and III from all over New England. Following that meet, he will compete in the NCAA Division II National Championship meet.
