
Softball Drops a Pair to Bridgewater in Conference Play
BRIDGEWATER, Mass -- Bucs softball traveled to Bridgewater to take on the Bears on Patriots Day and after sweeping MCLA on Saturday, they lost two very close games to BSU, 1-0 and 4-2.

How It Happened
In a very low scoring game, the Bears scored their only run in the bottom of the second inning on a wild pitch that allowed Becker to score from third.
Both pitchers did their jobs exceptionally well in the game as neither surrendered a walk. The Bears won the game by a final of 1-0.

How It Happened
The first two innings of the second game were scoreless. Then, in the top of the third, the Buccaneers took a lead, scoring their first run of the day. Holler singled up the middle and scored Burton to give the Bucs a 1-0 lead. In the bottom of the third, the Bears tied the game and took the lead. DuBois stole home to tie the game at 1-1 and later in the inning, Lynch homered to give the Bears a 2-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fourth, Bridgewater extended their lead to 3-1 on a double steal. Becker scored from third on the throw down to second.
The Bears added their fourth run in the fifth on an Ansell double to left center that scored DuBois for the second time in the game.
In the top of the seventh, with the game on the line, the Buccaneers fought back and got one of the three runs they needed back. Ward grounded out to second and Rolfe scored from third. That would be all the Bucs would get as the Bears took game two, 4-2, and swept the conference series.

The Buccaneers travel to Regis College on April 24th to take on the Pride in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 5pm.
