The Buccaneer men's soccer team is gearing up for a 16-game regular season in the Fall of 2022. The team begins their season on Saturday, September 3rd with a trip to Regis College in Weston, MA.

In 2021, the team posted a 5-12 regular season record and finished 3-4 in MASCAC play that sealed a playoff spot in the MASCAC playoffs.

Last season included conference wins over Fitchburg State, MCLA and an exciting 2-1 victory over Worcester state on the final day of the regular season. In dramatic fashion, Jake McInerney scored in the final 10 minutes to send the Bucs to the playoffs and giving them their first home playoff game since the 2017 season.

"We had an up and down year in 2021. Our playoff appearance was encouraging as we played well in that game and at the end of the season," Said head coach Greg Perry. "We are looking to build on that this year and that is going to take hard work from top to bottom."

This year, the Bucs welcome back a handful of core contributors to the team including Liam McDonough who has been with the squad since 2018. McDonough will take advantage of the extra year provided to him by the NCAA due to the pandemic. He will once again serve as a leader on and off the pitch for the Bucs.

Also back in senior forward McNeill Somers. Somers led the team in goal last season with five in 18 games. Junior CJ Vincent comes back as well having scored two goals, including a penalty kick goal, in the 2021 season and tallying two assists.

Coach Perry, entering his 30th season as Buccaneers head coach has brought in more than a dozen freshman to bolster his squad for the foreseeable future.

The Buccaneers will open their home schedule on Labor Day, Monday, September 5th, against Suffolk at 3pm. Go to the team's schedule page to see the full schedule for 2022.
