Bucs Beaten By Beacons in Boston in Close Conference Contest
BOSTON, Mass -- The Bucaneers traveled to the big city on Saturday to take on UMass Boston in conference play. In another barn burner of a game between the Bucs and Beacons, UMass Boston squeeked out the win over Maritime 17-15.

- Gage Coolahan led the Buccaneers offensively with five goals.
- Mitchell Maida scored four times, Ryan McDonough added three goals, and Ryan Cameron, Daniel Kane, and Doug Walker each scored once.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers controled the first quarter as they outscored the Beacons in the first 15 minutes. Maritime scored three unanswered to open the game though it took more than seven minutes to break the scoreless tie. McDonough scored at 7:52 of the first to put the Bucs up 1-0. 27 seconds later, Walker scored for the Bucs and McDonough scored his second at 6:16 to put the Buccaneers up 3-0. UMB scored at 4:50 on a Smith goal to make it 3-1. The Bucs extended their lead back out to three goals on Maida's first with 34 seconds left in the quarter to make it 4-1. With 22 seconds left in the irst, Murphy scored for the Beacons. At the end of one, the Bucs led the Beacons, 4-2.
In the second, Boston scored three times, tying the game and taking the lead, 5-4. The Bucs went on another run of their own, this time scoring four straight goals. Mida scored the first at 8:19 to tie the game at 5-5. Coolahan scored at 5:18 to retake the lead, and scored again on a penalty kill at 4:42. The shorty put Maritime up 7-5 at the times. McDonough scored the fourth in the four-goal run at 3:47 to make the score 8-5. Bank closed out the scoring in the quarter getting one back form the Beacs at 2:44. The teams went to the halftime break with the Bucs leading 8-6.
The second half scoring was opened by the Beacons and adding on to their goal at the end of the second, went on a five-goal run. Beauregard scored at 12:14 of the third to cut the deficit to one goal. Admirand scored at the 10-minute mark tying the game at 8-8. Meczywor scored at 8:21 to get the lead back for UMB, 9-8, and Beauregard scored his second of the quarter to put his team up two goals, 10-8. Coolahan went on to score two in a row at 4:08 and 3:55 to tie the game at 10-10. Maida added another Bucs goal at 3:32 to give the Bucs the lead again, 11-10. Coolahan scored again with 1:19 on the clock in the quarter on a power play putting the Buccaneers back up by two, 12-10, heading to the fourth quarter.
Cameron scored first for the Bucs in the fourth 57 seconds in to make the lead three goals, 13-10. Chapman netted a goal for the Beacons at 12:16 to pull back within two goals which Kane opened back to three for the Bucs at the 11:57 mark. Smith went on a scoring run of his own for UMB from the 9:53 mark to 5:19 to tie the game once again, this time at 14-14. Maida would then score again for the Bucs to give them a 15-14 lead with just over four minutes remaining. Boston, the LEC champions last season, proceeded to score three times in the final four minutes to take a 17-15 lead that they took to the final clock tick to win the Little East game over the Bucs.

The Buccaneers will be back home on Friday, April 14th at 7pm to play Plymouth State in conference play at Clean Harbors Stadium.
