Bateman, Leonardi Named As 2013 Women's Cross Country Co-Captains
With the start of the 2013 Massachusetts Maritime women’s cross country season just a few days away, Head Coach Linda Letourneau has tabbed two of her upperclassmen to serve as co-captains for the Buccaneers, as seniors Lauren Bateman and Liz Leonardi will fill those leadership roles this fall.
Bateman, a native of Newbury, Mass. and a graduate of Newburyport High School, and Leonardi, a native of Sandwich, Mass. and a graduate of Sandwich High School, are both three-year letterwinners for Letourneau, who describes the duo as “dedicated and gifted leaders both in competition and in our campus community. They have set, and will continue to set, incredibly positive examples for their teammates and classmates, and they are strong representatives of our program.”
Massachusetts Maritime begins the new season on Saturday, September 7th by hosting the Ninth Annual Lt. Travis J. Fuller Invitational on campus beginning at 10:00 a.m. EDT.
