WESTON, Mass. --  Freshman Jasmin Vivar (Attleboro, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist to lead Regis to a 3-0 non-league college women’s soccer victory over Massachusetts Maritime Thursday evening at Regis Athletic Field.

Vivar’s first collegiate goal, an unassisted marker 11:11 into the contest, gave the host Pride (3-1) the only tally they would need, as freshman Adena Joseph (Stoughton, Mass.) extended Regis’ advantage to 2-0 in the 66th minute on a feed from freshman Kristen Abreu (Woburn, Mass.).  Sophomore Tess McLean (West Roxbury, Mass.) closed out the scoring for the Pride by adding an insurance marker with 6:51 to play in the match that was set up on a pass from Vivar.

Senior Michaela Yebba (Wakefield, Mass.) picked up the win in goal for Regis by making one save, while junior Kim Courcy (Warwick, R.I.) made 10 stops in net in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (0-3) over the first 84-plus minutes of play, as freshman Emilie Conway (Middleboro, Mass.) made her first collegiate appearance over the final five-plus minutes of action.

Massachusetts Maritime opens Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday afternoon by hosting Framingham State in a league match at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 4:00 p.m., while Regis travels to Bennington, Vt. on Saturday afternoon to take on Southern Vermont in its New England Collegiate Conference opener that begins at 2:30 p.m.
