Bucs Place 79 on All-Academic, Five for Fourth Time

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association announced its Spring All-Academic Team, and a whopping 79 Buccaneer athletes were listed. In total, cadets from eight sports were honored, with at least four men and four women in each. Men’s lacrosse claimed the most honorees, as 17 players were tabbed for the list.

Five Massachusetts Maritime Academy players have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Spring Sportsmanship Teams. Nathan Anderson, Mikayla Correia, Joe Eastman, Michelle Sheehan, and Emily Bacciocchi all took home the prestigious honor.

Hunt, Rouette Honored as 2017-18 Athletes of the Year

At the annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Senior Student-Athlete Award Night, Stephanie Hunt and Mick Rouette were announced as the 2017-18 Players of the Year after stellar four-year careers for the Buccaneers. Seven other awards were also given out as part of the evening.

Zaia Honored with NEWMAC Sportsmanship Award

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse was shut out of All-New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference voting, but senior Nick Zaia concluded his career with a nice honor as he was named to the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Clutch-Shooting Ragge Sparks Incredible Season-Ending Comeback

The Massachusetts Maritime Academy men’s lacrosse team stunned Emerson College with a fourth quarter comeback and Franklin Ragge gave the Buccaneers the win with a shot that hit the net a mere five seconds from the end of double overtime. The 10-9 victory in the season’s final game was the first NEWMAC win of the year for the Bucs.

The New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) announced the 2018 Men's Lacrosse Academic All-Conference Team and three Massachusetts Maritime Academy players were honored. In total, Academic All-Conference Team totaled 35 student-athletes this year.

Twelve different Bucs, including three youngies, scored for Head Coach Rick Bagby as the team improved to 4-1 on the season.
