Massachusetts Maritime freshman running back Kenny Pierce’s 81-yard third quarter touchdown run in last Saturday’s 46-41 victory at UMass Dartmouth is one of four nominees for this week’s Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Football Fan Play of the Week.

Fans can visit www.mascac.com and click on the Football Fan Play of the Week page to vote for Kenny’s effort, which came as part of a 20-point third quarter outburst and followed his 18-yard touchdown reception earlier in the frame.  Voting is open until Noon on Wednesday, and this week’s winner will be announced by the conference office later that afternoon.  Bridgewater State, Western Connecticut and Worcester State are the other three schools competing for this week’s top play.

Pierce, who was named as the MASCAC Rookie of the Week after rushing for a career-high 186 yards in the triumph, becomes the third Buccaneer player this season to be in the mix for the conference’s Play of the Week honor, joining senior Victor Andrade’s fumble recovery touchdown at SUNY-Maritime and senior Bobby Rosano’s kickoff return touchdown against Maine Maritime.
