Football Looks To Continue Winning Ways This Fall As Cameron's Crew Tackles 10-Game Slate In New Conference

The start of the 2013 Massachusetts Maritime football season is just a few short months away, as Head Coach Jeremy Cameron’s Buccaneers take their high flying offense and experienced defense into a 10-game schedule as part of their first season of play as a member of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference this fall.

Cameron, who has guided Massachusetts Maritime to three straight winning campaigns for the first time since 1998-2000, welcomes back six all-conference players and the program’s first-ever Academic All-America honoree into the fold this season, which begins on Thursday, September 12th when the Buccaneers entertain SUNY-Maritime in the Sixth Annual Chowder Bowl clash at Clean Harbors Stadium that kicks off at 7:00 p.m. EDT.  Massachusetts Maritime will then look to claim its third straight Admiral’s Cup from rival Maine Maritime on Saturday, September 21st when the Buccaneers and Mariners meet in Castine, Maine in the 41st annual clash at 1:00 p.m. EDT, and Cameron’s crew will then open its MASCAC slate on Saturday, September 28th at Worcester State.

In addition to the SUNY-Maritime opening night outing, Massachusetts Maritime will also host MASCAC foes Fitchburg State (Saturday, October 5th for Homecoming), UMass Dartmouth (Saturday, October 26th) and Plymouth State (Saturday, November 9th) before entertaining rival Bridgewater State in the 35th Annual Cranberry Bowl Presented by Ocean Spray on Saturday, November 16th.  The Buccaneers will also hit the road for league outings at Western Connecticut (Saturday, October 12th), Westfield State (Saturday, October 19th) and 2012 New England Football Conference champion Framingham State (Saturday, November 2nd).
