The Buccaneer Appreciation Award was established to recognize institutional staff members, past and present, for their efforts in advancing the services and programs of the institution. The award is handed out annually at the Buccaneers Senior Student-Athlete Awards Banquet which was held on Monday, June 6th, 2022.

In the Spring of 2021 we were introduced Jim Bazzano by one of our coaches. We brought him on to help us document Buccaneer moments on the field in a time where it was difficult for us to do so otherwise. After the Spring 2021 season we asked them to come back and help us document our first full season after our time away from sports. We asked him to come to a couple of games for each sport to get a few pictures for us so we could get new and updated photos of our student-athletes. Then, night after night, game after game, we would see him again, and each game he had a new piece of Buc gear from a different team. He went from being our photographer to part of our community. He paid attention to all of Buccaneer games, meets and regattas, home or away. He learned all of student-athletes names and quickly knew how they were performing on a game to game basis. Many have met this man because he isn't shy and has become invested in what we are doing here at the Academy.

From Cobey Williamson's pick six against Fitchburg, to Jake McInerney's game winner against Worcester State to send the Bucs to the playoffs, to Maia Ostromecki's walkoff double against Bay Path, to Zach Sylvia's walk off single against Bridgewater State and so many more memories just from your senior year, this guy captured them.
