Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at MASCAC Championship
LEOMINSTER, Mass -- Saturday afternoon, the Buccaneers women's cross country team competed in the MASCAC Championship meet and finished in fifth overall.
Grace Condinho was the top fnisher for the Buccaneers in 34th place, 24th in scoring. She finished the race wit ha time of 23:27.59.
There was a pack of Bucs behind Condinho tht all finished in the top 50 runners. Lorelei Lee was the second finisher in 38th place, 27th in scoring, finishing with a time of 23:45.07. Three spots behind Lee was Cadence Wasoka in 41st, 29th in scoring to round out Maritime's top three. Lillian Luechever was the next across for the Bucs in 45th and Avalon Donlon, Mikayla Horvath, and Sylvia Mattraw-Johnston came in at the same time finishing in 47th, 48th, and 49th.
Miranda Courteau and Allie Solari came across the finish line for Maritime in 53rd and 54th.
With the top five runner's scores counting towards the team final, the Buccaneers accumulated 147 points with an average time of 24:37.13. Maritime finished 20 points ahead of Fitchburg State in sixth and were 53 points behind Worcester State for fourth. Westfield State took home the conference title with 20 total points and all seven of their runners finishing in the top 10.
