WENHAM, Mass. -- Junior Lauren Kranyak (Locust Grove, Va.) notched nine kills and four digs to lead Gordon to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over Massachusetts Maritime Tuesday evening by game scores of 25-14, 25-11 and 25-4 in a match played at the Bennett Athletic Center.
Sophomore Shaylyn Roach (South Weymouth, Mass.) added seven kills and seven solo blocks for the host Fighting Scots (12-8), who also received four kills from junior Chelsie Clemens (Santa Barbara, Calif.) as well as 26 set assists and five service aces from freshman Hannah Swor (Pearland, Tex.).
Sophomore Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass.) registered three kills and nine digs in the setback for the visiting Buccaneers (1-18), who also received seven digs from sophomore Deb Langley (Abington, Mass.) as well as four digs from sophomore Lauren O’Shaughnessy (Yarmouthport, Mass.).
Massachusetts Maritime hosts Castleton and Albertus Magnus in a non-league tri-match on Thursday evening at the Clean Harbors Athletic Center beginning at 5:00 p.m., while Gordon travels to Beverly, Mass. on Thursday evening to take on Endicott in a Commonwealth Coast Conference match that begins at 6:00 p.m.
