Boyle Named As Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player Of The Week

Massachusetts Maritime freshman attack Shavonne Boyle was named as the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Week on Monday morning for her efforts in a pair of Buccaneer victories at Clean Harbors Stadium last week.

A native of Doylestown, Pa. and a graduate of Archbishop Wood High School, Boyle netted eight goals and five assists for 13 points on the week, including five markers and a pair of helpers in last Saturday’s 14-12 MASCAC opening victory over Framingham State.  She added a hat trick and three assists in a 9-8 triumph over Wheelock last Tuesday evening and chipped in with nine ground balls, five draw controls and a pair of caused turnovers on the week.

Boyle leads first-year Head Coach Leslie Bullis’s squad in scoring with 10 goals and 10 assists for 20 points, as she also leads the Buccaneers with four caused turnovers and ranks second with 17 ground balls.  Massachusetts Maritime, in just its second season of varsity intercollegiate competition, returns to action on Thursday, April 4th by heading to Leicester, Mass. to take on Becker in a non-league outing that begins at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
