Track & Field Finishes 12th and 13th in Fitchburg
FITCHBURG, Mass -- Track and Field participated in their second meet in three days on Saturday at the Jim Sheehan Invitational hosted by Fitchburg State. The men finished in 12th in a field of 23 teams and the women finished 13th of 20.
On the men's side, for the second meet in a row, Joshua Rousseau won the discus event with a final toss of 43.45 meters. He also finished second in the hammer with a throw of 143'8".
In the men's javelin, Liam Higgins finished fifth with a best throw of 49.85 meters.
On the track the 4x100 relay team finished seventh with a time of 47.14 seconds. Demetri Boozer, Sean Gibson, Luke Canniff, and Jason Soares ran for the Buccaneers.
On the women's side, Alyssa Grieco finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:09.10. Bridgette Boriolo finished seventh in the 100 meter dash, finishing with a time of 26.79 seconds. Marchella Corolla finished ninth in the 5000 meter run with a time of 27:53.72.
