Men's Cross Country Competes in Rainy James Earley Invite
WESTFIELD, Mass -- Westfield State University hosted the 27th annual James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield on Saturday. The Buccaneers, on a rainy course, ran in the Varsity and Sub-Varsity races finishing in 21st in the Varsity race and 12th in the Sub-Varsity race.
In the varsity portion, freshman Spencer Reese was the Buccaneers top finisher for the third race in a row. He finished in 106th place overall with a time of 28:48.25. In the scoring he was 95th overall. Freshman Cole Guiliani was next for Maritime in 156th place with a final time of 31:10.28 and 132nd in scoring. Rounding out the top three for the Bucs in the Varsity race was Troy Penney coming across in 31:40.24.
In the Blue Sub-Varsity race, Grayson Duval was the top finisher for Maritime in 105th with a time of 34:56.23, 70th in scoring. Ryan Faria finished right behind Duval in 106th at 35:11.92. Rounding out the top three for the Buccaneers was Deyne Raptis in 11th coming across at 36:02.03.
The Buccaneers travel to Boston to run in the Suffolk University Invitational in Franklin Park next Saturday.
