Solid Mix Of Youth, Experience Awaits Men's Lacrosse As Bucs Tackle 16 Match Schedule

A solid mix of youth and experience will serve the Buccaneer men’s lacrosse team well during the upcoming 2012 season, as second year Head Coach Rory Deegan welcomes back 23 letterwinners that will tackle a 16-match schedule this spring.

Massachusetts Maritime will open the new campaign with a weekend trip up North on Saturday and Sunday, March 10th and 11th, as Deegan’s crew will take on Thomas and Husson in central and northern Maine.  The Buccaneers return to the Cape to open their home slate on Wednesday, March 14th by hosting Wentworth in a non-league encounter at Clean Harbors Stadium that begins at 7:00 p.m. EST, as Massachusetts Maritime will also host New York Maritime, Plymouth State, Salem State and UMass Dartmouth in out-of-conference action.  In addition, Deegan’s troops will venture to Portland, Maine on Sunday, March 25th to renew its Admiral’s Cup rivalry with Maine Maritime.

The Buccaneers begin Pilgrim Lacrosse League play on Saturday, March 31st with a trip to Babson, as Massachusetts Maritime welcomes Springfield, Wheaton and conference newcomer Regis to Clean Harbors Stadium for league clashes in April.
