WESTFIELD, Mass -- The Buccaneers track and field team competed at the MASCAC Championship Meet on Friday, hosted by Westfield State. For the third time this season, Liam Higgins shattered the program's javelin record.

Higgins finished second in the javelin with a throw of 62.09 meters, finishing less than a meter behind the winner from Fitchburg State. Tyler Fountain also finished top five in the event with a 48.85 meter throw for a fifth place finish. 

Higgins also competed in the shot put and finished sixth out of 16 throwers with a toss of 12.76 meters.

In the men's 100 meter dash, Nikos Biskaduros came in 13th with a time of 11.61 second. 

Cloe Guiliani picked up a top 1- finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:07.96.

The Buccaneers finished in fifth place in the meet with 11 total points.
