Bucs Place 79 on All-Academic, Five for Fourth Time

The Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Association announced its Spring All-Academic Team, and a whopping 79 Buccaneer athletes were listed. In total, cadets from eight sports were honored, with at least four men and four women in each. Men’s lacrosse claimed the most honorees, as 17 players were tabbed for the list.

Five Massachusetts Maritime Academy players have been named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Spring Sportsmanship Teams. Nathan Anderson, Mikayla Correia, Joe Eastman, Michelle Sheehan, and Emily Bacciocchi all took home the prestigious honor.

Hunt, Rouette Honored as 2017-18 Athletes of the Year

At the annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy’s Senior Student-Athlete Award Night, Stephanie Hunt and Mick Rouette were announced as the 2017-18 Players of the Year after stellar four-year careers for the Buccaneers. Seven other awards were also given out as part of the evening.

Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament a Day to Remember

The third annual Massachusetts Maritime Academy Women’s Athletics Golf Tournament was a delightful culmination to a record-setting spring for female Buccaneer athletes. Entergy Plymouth Station and C&W Services made the day possible and the generosity of sponsors, donors, and alumni was celebrated during the evening’s dinner at Cummaquid Golf Club.

McCabe Top Freshman Shot Putter in New England, No. 8 Overall

Colin McCabe is officially the best freshman shot putter in New England. The star Massachusetts Maritime Academy thrower qualified for the prestigious multi-divisional All-New England Track and Field Championships and finished No. 8 across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III in shot put with a 15.35m throw.

All-New Englands Beckon, McCabe Awarded Again

The dream season continues for shot putting sensation Colin McCabe. Not only did McCabe earned his fourth MASCAC Rookie of the Week nomination, but the two-sport freshman qualified for the All-New England Track and Field Championship on Saturday at Dartmouth College.

McCabe Wraps Up Storybook Rookie Year as No. 5 in New England

Colin McCabe’s record-breaking freshman season came to a close with a stellar fifth place finish at the New England Division-III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The first-year shot putter had the farthest throw by any MASCAC representative with his third-best put of the year.

An historic season for the Massachusetts Maritime Academy track and field team came to an end at the New England Alliance and MASCAC Championships with three more records broken, led by rookie sensation Colin McCabe who broke a mark in his fifth-straight event. Sprinter Meaghan Hamilton set a Buccaneer best and the 4x800 meter men’s relay team also etched their name in the record book.

Colin McCabe added yet another accomplishment to his rapidly growing collection as, for the fourth week in-a-row, the Massachusetts Maritime Academy two-sport athlete set a track and field record. Competing in the Eastern Connecticut State University Invitational, the freshman thrower beat a crowd of upperclassmen for first place and the new meet record.

Freshman shot put sensation Colin McCabe has done it again. For the third straight week, the Dartmouth, Mass. native has set the Massachusetts Maritime Academy record for putting the shot. Joining him on the record-setting front was Michelle Sheehan, also surpassing her own mark in the 400m from a week prior.

MASCAC Tabs McCabe as Rookie of the Week

Track and Field has suffered more than any other Massachusetts Maritime Academy sport because of inclement New England weather, but that has not stopped freshman Colin McCabe from setting and then breaking the Buccaneer record in shot put. McCabe, who was listed on the MASCAC Honor Roll last week, came home this time with Rookie of the Week honors after shattering the Maritime shot put mark.

Freshman Colin McCabe shattered his own school record for shot put and Michelle Sheehan set a Massachusetts Maritime Academy mark in the 400 meters at Saturday’s Corsair Classic. The men’s 4x100 meter relay finished second, only seconds off the Academy’s top mark as the Buccaneer women competed in seven events and the men 14.

Yesterday, he was one of two Buccaneer track and field athletes to be listed on MASCAC’s Honor Roll. Today, we honor the football and track and field athlete as our NCAA Division III Week Male Athlete of the Day.
