Bucs Compete at Silfen Invite

NEW LONDON, Conn -- The Buccaneers track and field team competed this weekend in the Silfen Invitational hosted by Connecticut College. For the second time this season, Liam Higgins shattered the program's javelin record.

Higgins finished second in the javelin with a throw of 60.78 meters, his first throw in the event over 60 meters. Liam also finished 12th in the shot put with a throw of 12.25 meters.

Tyler Fountain finished in the top 10 for the javelin as well, making Maritime the only team in the event with two top 10 finishers. Fountains throw was 48.44 meters to get in to the ninth position.

Nikoa Biskaduros finished 13th in the 110 meter hurdles event with a final time of 16.97 seconds. 

The Buccaneers 4x100 meter relay team picked up a fifth place spot in the event with a time of 46.57 seconds.
