Boyce and Brennan Set Program Records; Bucs Compete at Corsair Classic

DARTMOUTH, MA -- Buccaneers Women's Track & Field took part in the Corsair Classic at UMass Dartmouth on Saturday. Camryn Boyce and Ashley Brennan set new program records and two Bucs qualified for the MASCAC meet on April 30th at Bridgewater State.

Brennan finished seventh overall in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.62. Her time in the event represents a new Buccaneers program record, besting former record holder Emma Ethiers time of 17.35 second back in 2017.

In the 400 meter hurdles, Alyssa Grieco finished third overall with a time of 1:12.66. Not only did she finish in third in the event with that time, she also qualified for the finals at the MASCAC meet at Bridgewater State.

Boyce finished fifth in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 13:52.08. The time was her best and a new program best as she beat former Buc Meaghan Hamilton's time of 13:54.10 set in 2019.

In the women's high jump, Brennan finished seventh with a final jump of 1.37 meters and qualified for the event at the MASCAC meet on April 30th. 

Lily Hakkarainen finished 19th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:37.64.

The Bucs have two meets next weekend with one on Friday, April 8th at Regis College and the other on Saturday, April 9th at Fitchburg State.
