Softball Loses Pair to Pride
WESTON, Mass -- The Buccaneers took on Regis College in non-conference action on Wednesday evening. The bucs were shutout in game one, 7-0, and though the teams were tied late in game two, the Pride struck for eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to take game two, 12-4.

- Chloe Beland and Mel Rees each had two hits. Six other Pride hitters had a hit each.

How It Happened
The Pride scored early and often in game one picking up two runs in the bottom of the first.
They added two runs in the bottom of the third as the pitcher, Rees, doubled and Nichols followed that with a double of her own. They would add another run on a double steal and lead 5-0 after three.
In the fourth, Regis scored two more to take a 7-0 lead.
Keeping the Bucs off the board for seven innings, the Pride took game one by the 7-0 final.

- Reagan Kerecz, Jennamarie Klemp, and Ryleigh Ward all had two hits in the loss. Hannah Burton, and Lola Resendes both had one hit. Resendes and Ward both had a triple and Klemp added a double.
- Klemp drove in two runs and Burton and Ward each knocked in one.
- Burton scored twice with Kerecz and Kelsey Booker each scoring once.

- Bianca Burke had four hits in the game including two triples and a double. Mel Rees had three hits with a double. Abby Erickson and Jaylene Deslauriers both had two hits. Four other hitters had one hit each including a triple by Grace Motto.
- Rees drove in three runs. Four players knocked in two runs each and Lexi Nichols had one RBI.
- Burke, Chloe Beland, Deslauriers and Motto all scored twice. Four others scored once.

How it Happened
Regis scored first in the bottom of the first on a Nichols infield single that scored Beland.
After a scoreless second and third, the Bucs scored for the first time on the day. Klemp doubled in Burton and Ward hit a sacrifice fly to bring in Booker and the Bucs took a 2-1 lead. In the bottom of the fourth, the Pride got the run back on a Burke double and the teams were tied, 2-2, after four innings.
In the top of the fifth, the Buccaneers took their second lead of the game. Burton and Klemp each singled and Maritime was up 4-2. Regis tied the game again in the bottom of the frame on an Allen two-RBI single. After five, the teams were locked at 4-4.
The Bucs were held scoreless in the top of the sixth and in the bottom of the inning, the Pride went on an eight run rally to take a 12-4 lead and win the game by run rule.
What's Next
The Buccaneers are off until May 1st when they will travel to Curry College to take on the Colonels in the team's final non-conference games of the season.
