Softball: Bucs Swept by Bears in Conference Play
BRIDGEWATER, MA -- In their penultimate conference series of the regular season, Buccaneer softball traveled to Bridgewater to take on the Bears. The strong Bridgwater squad swept the Bucs, 10-1 and 8-0.

- Maia Ostromecki scored the only run.
Bridgwater
- Amelia Blake, Madison Dana, and Kerrin McLaughlin all had multi-hit games.
- Alexandra Ruprecht, Megan Sharon, and Emily Marcotte each had a hit.
- McLaughlin drove in five runs. Blake drove in two.
- Blake and Ruprecht each scored twice.
- Ruprecht and McLaughlin each hit home runs, Dana hit a double.
- Sharon and Janet Jolly were credited with stolen bases.
How It Happened
Ruprecht homered in the bottom of the first to give the Bears a 1-0 lead after one inning. They scored five more in the bottom of the third, including a two-run single from Blake.
Down 6-0, the Bucs got on the board in the top of the fifth when Mikayla Hunter reached base on an error allowing Ostromecki to come around and score. In the bottom of the fifth, the Bucs holding on, Bridgewater loaded the bases and got a grand slam from McLaughlin to essentially walk off with a 10-1 victory on run rule.

- Alexandra Ruprecht had two hits in the win.
- Madison Dana drove in three runs with Ruprecht driving in two.
- Ruprecht had a double, the only extra-base hit in the game.
How It Happened
Bridgewater did all of their scoring in the first three innings. The scored four times in the bottom of the first, three more times in the second, and once in the third to rack up the eight runs needed to finish the game by run rule in five innings with Klingel throwing a no hitter.

The Buccaneers close out their 2022 season on Saturday against Salem State on the road beginning at 12pm.
