WHAT TO KNOW
• Maritime returns nine players from the 2021 season including captains Camryn Roberts-CapakMalarie Pittsley, and Abby Pope.
• The Bucs went 0-8 last season playing an abbreviated, non-conference schedule.
• The Buccaneer offense recorded a .300 on-base percentage last season and stole 18 bases in eight games.

PLAYERS TO WATCH
• Junior Abby Pope returns as a captain in 2022 having batted a team best .308 last season with a team-high six stolen bases.
• Sophomore Emma Ruginski tied Pope for the team lead in average at .308 in 2021 with a .400 on-base percentage. Ruginski also posted a .941 fielding percentage with just one error last year.
• Sophomore Olivia Camelo led the team last season with two triples 
• Senior Camryn Roberts-Capak scored a team-high four runs in eight games with a .280 batting average and four stolen bases. Roberts, along with returning starting pitcher and senior captain Malarie Pittsley and Maia Ostromecki each had 1.000 fielding percentages with no errors in 91 total fielding opportunities.

STORYLINES
• The Buccaneers added Sicily DiDomenico from Haverhill, MA as an offensive and pitching threat. She adds much needed depth to the team's pitching staff with defensive ability in the outfield as well.
• With nine players, six starters, returning to the lineup for the Bucs, the young Bucs team has had a season together and will look to build on their chemistry.
• Maritime was voted 8th in the MASCAC preseason poll by the conferences coaches. The team has never made the conference playoffs.
• Under third-year head coach Will Griffiths, the team opens their season in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, the first time in program history that the team has taken a southern spring training trip.
