NANTUCKET, MA -- Each year around Memorial Day, the Buccaneer sailing team takes part in the Figawi Race Weekend. The Figawi is an off-shore sailing event that goes from Hyannis to Nantucket. The primary mission of the race is to support the sport of sailing, especially their Figawi Foundations Youth Sailing Initiative. The organization creates amazing events that deliver serious fun and promote camaraderie. Through these events, we make a difference by giving proceeds to a variety of causes including veterans, first responders, and youth organizations.

The Buccaneers, in the B Division finished the race in second place in their group in their boat "Red Shift". Director of Sailing Twice Tougas said the day was perfect for sailing and the team enjoyed a fantastic race and an outstanding finish. 

Along with their second place finish, the team received the "Howard Penn Spirit Of Figawi" Trophy for their dedication to the race and sportsmanship.
