Bucs Buzzed by Owls in Conference Play
Keene, N.H. -- The Bucs traveled to New Hampshire on Tuesday to take on a very good Keene State Owls team in conference play. The big difference in the game was the nine-goal second quarter by the Owls causing the Bucs to fall 21-8.

How It Happened
The Buccaneers and Owls traded goals in the first three minutes with Keene scoring first at 13:53 and the Bucs answering at 12:45 on a goal from Coolahan. Keene then went on to score five in a row and keep Maritime off the board for the remainder of the quarter. The Owls led 6-1 after the first quarter of play.
In the second, Maritime opened the scoring on Kane's score to make it 6-2. Keene answered less than 30 seconds later and added another less than 30 seconds after that to go up six goals, 8-2. The Bucs scored again at 12:18 on Coolahan's second of the day which was followed by four straight by the Owls. At 6:39, the Bucs scored again to make it 12-4. Keene State closed out the first half with three more goals and led at the break, 15-4.
In the third quarter, Keene scored first at 14:17 to make it 16-4. Cameron and Maida scored back-to-back for the Bucs to make it 16-6. Keene broke up the goal streak for the Bucs at 7:06 though the Bucs got another from Kosiewicz at 4:02 and they trailed 17-7 at that point. Keene scored twice in under 30 seconds to close out the third and led 19-7 at the end of three quarters.
Keene scored their third in a row to begin the fourth followed by a McDonough goal for the Bucs at 13:23. The Owls scored at 7:58 on a power play to take a 21-8 lead which would go down in the books as the final in this one.
What's Next
The Buccaneers travel to UMass Boston on Saturday for another LEC matchup against the Beacons. Faceoff is scheduled for 1pm.
