Bucs Post Best Ever Finish at Head of the Charles

CAMBRIDGE, Mass -- Sunday afternoon, the Buccaneers men's rowing team led by Finn McQueeney, freshman coxswain Julia Glotfelty and seniors Dane Franke and Matthew White rowed in the men's collegiate fours event at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge on the Charles River. The Maritime boat finished 33rd overall out of 43 teams in the event marking the best finish by an Academy boat in the HOCR since the team began racing in the event.

The Buccaneers finished the course in 19:17.576, 25 second short of earning a guaranteed spot in next year's race. The Bucs were a spot behind Notre Dame's A boat and finished three seconds ahead of Connecticut College's A boat. Maritime was within two minutes and 12 seconds of the winner from Stetson University who finished in 17:08.023.

The Buccaneers men's and women's teams travel to Lake Quinsigamond next week for the Wormtown Chase in Shrewsbury, MA.
