Bucs Race in Dad Vail Regatta in New Jersey

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. -- This weekend, the Buccaneers men's rowing team competed in the Dad Vail Regatta in New Jersey, hosted by Thomas Jefferson University. Dad Vail is one of the largest collegiate rowing events in the United States and the men's team performed well amongst stiff competition.

In the men's varsity fours on Friday Finn McQueeney led his boat to a first place finish against American University and Georgia Tech. The Bucs finished with a time of 8:02.46, 26.176 seconds ahead of American in second place.

The Buccaneers finished fourth in the men's novice fours with Mitchell Campbell leading the Bucs past the finish line in 8:16.506, just 14 second behind the winners from Fordham University. Maritime was just under 13 seconds ahead of the Villanova boat in fifth.

In the men's pairs race, Eric Mayers boat finished in 8:47.472 for a sixth place finish behind Catholic University.

On Saturday, Mayers led the men's pairs boat in the final finishing in fourth ahead of Catholic and behind Manhattan.

The Buccaneers will compete in the IRA Championships on Saturday, June 3rd.
