AMHERST, Mass -- Men's rowing opened their Spring season on Saturday against Amherst College in western Mass and picked up a win and a second place finish in the races.

Competing against Amherst in the invitational, the Bucs sent two varsity four boats to compete. In the first race, the Bucs finished first and third against Amherst with final times of 9:02.33 and 12:25.26. Amherst finished second with a time of 9:11.26, nearly nine seconds behind the Buccaneers A boat.

In the second race, Amherst finished first with a time of 8:43.9. Maritime finished second and third with times of 9:37.6 and 9:59.4.

The Buccaneers are off until April 22nd when they travel to Lowell, MA to compete in the Spring Riverhawk Challenge, hosted by UMass Lowell.
