Men's Rowing: Bucs Finish Strong in Connecticut

DERBY, Conn -- Men's rowing competed in the Head of the Housatonic on Saturday morning, competing in three different events. In their second race of the season they picked up third place, ninth place and 15th place finishes. 

In the men's novice fours race, Mitchell Campbell's crew finished third over all with a time of 22:39.9. They were ahead of Merchant Marine by 25 seconds and finished third to Connecticut College and Army. 

In the men's collegiate eights, Dane Franke and company finished with a time of 16:26.2, good for ninth place in a field of 18 boats. George Washington University A and B boats finished in the top two spots and Trinity came in third. The Bucs' time was just 12 seconds behind that of Fairfield and they edged out Trinity's B boat by 3.2 seconds.

In their third event, the men's open fours, Maritime finished 15th coming in at 21:59.8.
