Bio
Joe Domingos began his association with the Academy in 1973 when he joined Don Ruggeri’s football coaching staff on a part-time basis while employed in the Falmouth school system. In 1974 he came to MMA in the position of Company Officer in the Student Services Division as well as assistant football coach. He went on to hold the title of Deputy Commandant of Cadets at MMA and is the past state-wide president of the Association of Professional Administrators. A star player at New Bedford High School and Bridgewater State College, Joe coached at New Bedford and Falmouth high prior to coming to the Academy. He is a member of the New Bedford H.S. Hall of Fame and a former football captain at Bridgewater State. Working primarily with the offensive line, he also served as defensive coordinator and worked with special teams over the course of his 27 years as an assistant. He became head coach in 2001 and held that position until his retirement from coaching in 2004.
