Bio

Bill Johnson earned eight varsity letters from 1981 to 1985 in football and baseball. He is the MMA all-time leader in career interceptions with 22, picking off seven passes per season in three consecutive seasons (1982-1984). He is second all-time in punt returns with 43 and third all-time in return yardage with 347. He captained the ’84 Buccaneers. Bill served as co-captain of the 1985 Buccaneer Baseball team. MMA appeared in three ECAC New England Tournaments during his career, winning the title in 1982. He hit .309 in his junior season as MMA earned a number 10 ranking in New England Division III college baseball. Bill was a leader in the Regiment as a senior, holding the post of Regimental Executive Officer. He was the recipient of the Howard C. Smith Award in 1985, being named the outstanding scholar-athlete in the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference by a vote of the conference athletic directors.
