Bio

Ann Veillette Slagle shined on the volleyball court and the softball diamond for the Buccaneers.  Veillette Slagle earned the nod as Massachusetts Maritime’s Female Athlete of the Year in 1986 after serving as a team captain and top performer in both sports during the course of her career.  She batted a team-leading .438 with 21 hits and 15 runs scored during her junior campaign of 1985, and over the program’s first three years of existence, she sported a career .403 batting average that included 52 hits in 42 games played.  Ann also shined on the volleyball court under program founder Judy Cox, as she and the late Alison Rollins ’85 served as program mainstays while leading the Buccaneers in kills, attack percentage, service aces and digs.
