WESTFIELD, Mass.-- Senior Kyle Ingersoll (Wakefield, Mass.) earned all-Alliance honors for the Massachusetts Maritime men's cross country team on Saturday afternoon, as he recorded a 17th place individual finish at the 2008 New England Alliance Championships hosted by Westfield State at Stanley Park.

Ingersoll, who last week earned all-MASCAC accolades on the same course, covered the 8K layout in a time of 26:44.88 to lead the way for the Buccaneers, who posted a solid seventh place overall team finish that was good for fourth place among MASCAC competitors. Sophomore Patrick Dannaher (Arlington, Va.) and freshman Jonathan Quigley (Braintree, Mass.) were next in 52nd and 53rd place, respectively, with times of 28:14.65 and 28:15.06, while sophomore Paul Matz (Plainville, Mass.) and junior Matthew Sturgis (Cummaquid, Mass.) rounded out the scoring for Massachusetts Maritime by placing 67th and 77th, respectively, with times of 28:45.30 and 29:08.88.

Keene State claimed the Men's Alliance Championship with a 12-point win over 2007 champion Southern Maine, as UMass Dartmouth took third place. Fitchburg State was fourth as the top MASCAC competitor, followed by Westfield State and Bridgewater State ahead of the Buccaneers.

On the women's side, junior Lauren Fograshy (Monson, Mass.) posted the top performance for Massachusetts Maritime, as she placed 50th individually with a time of 22:08.36 over the 5K layout. Seniors Emily Rizzo (Milwaukee, Wis.) and Patricia Malagrino (Barrington, R.I.) were next in 58th and 59th place, respectively, with times of 22:32.47 and 22:33.27, while junior Kaitlin O'Donnell (Damascus, Md.) was 92nd overall with a time of 24:40.06.
